My moods, what are you? - We are the waves rising in your heart.

Vadan

Do not enjoy life more than life allows you to enjoy it; if so, your joy will turn into sorrow.

Reflection

Author: Hidayat Inayat-Khan

One's inner self is like a dome wherein everything thought, said, and done finds an echo, either creative or destructive, which has a consequent effect upon one's personality.

Love manifests towards those whom we like as love; towards all those whom we do not like as forgiveness.  February,08

Providence

13 September 2006

Providence has granted us the privilege of meeting together in circles all over the world, wherein all brothers and sisters could be seen as treasured lamps shining out in different shades of light, and the brightness of that light varies in accordance with the inner condition of the heart.
This month it is 96 years since our Master left India on his sacred journey to the West, as bringer of the Message in our time. Have we ever asked ourselves whether we have really offered whatever we could in contribution to the great task ahead, to serve the Message in true humility and love?

Viladat

6 July 2006

Hazrat Inayat Khan was extremely kingly by nature and had special attraction for grandeur, besides, his legendary wideness of spirit which - among so many other things - inspired healthy feelings of liberation from the domination of religious laws, which don’t correspond anymore to that which is required in our time.
His atmosphere was Godly, his presence was uplifting, and in a moment's time all fanatic ideas were blown away, like being purified by a magic broom.

New

The all-pervading «Goal» drives each of us without mercy into the Future, while at the same time hurling us into the ever-receding Past; and in our illusion of the Present, the magic game of Time deceives that Eternity, where the opposite poles Spirit and Matter meet in a continuum of space, inspiring our speculative concepts of reality or unreality, which are just only the reflections of our own point of view.
There is no experience in life which is really worthless, and there is not one moment which is really wasted, providing one is wise enough to carefully assemble the elements of past memories and learn from these, with the idea of accomplishing one’s life’s purpose.

Hejirat

30 September 2005

It is our great privilege to express together our devotion and our gratitude on this special day, Hejirat Day, the birthday of the Divine Message of  love, harmony and beauty. Many of us have come from far distant places, attracted by the call of the Message of our Master, the Master of us all, whatever be the diverse directions that some have chosen to take.
When coming to the West, our Master sacrificed his heavenly talents in Indian music and a golden career, which he left behind in the pursuit of his spiritual destiny. The miracle was that he soon attracted a devoted following, which was seen as a gift from above for the great sacrifices offered. What does Hejirat Day really mean? It has two meanings. One way of understanding it is as the closing of an episode, of a condition, while on the other hand it signifies the beginning of a new destiny.

Birthday

8 May 2005

Pirani Amina Begum Ora Ray Inayat-Khan, also known as Sharda, was the wife of our Master Hazrat Inayat Khan, the mother of his four children, and his most faithful support through all life?s troubles and storms.  At a young age she left home and family and crossed the wide seas to be with her beloved, and willingly accepted all hardships and difficulties that arose from his divine mission.  Hazrat Inayat Khan wrote of Amina Begum, "The tests that my life was destined to go through were not of a usual character, and were not a small trial for her.  A life such as mine, which was wholly devoted to the Cause, and which was more and more involved in the ever growing activities of the Sufi Movement, naturally kept me back from that thought and attention which was due to my home and family.

Visalat

4 February 2005

From far across land and sea, in the legendary City of Delhi, where the sacred Dargha of our Master of us all, stands as a symbol of "Unity", beyond distinctions and differences, we are constantly reminded to hearken to the call which resounds in our hearts as celestial music, inspiring us onwards on the path, each time that we offer ourselves to that Divine spiritual guidance which is ever present.

Tilak

30 Octobre 2004

We were a small group gathered for a spiritual retreat at the Dargah of Hazrat Inayat Khan, and someone asked: would it be possible to visit Tilak Lodge?
The Dargah, or tomb, of out Master is in the Basti Nizamuddin, not far from the 14th century Dargah of the saint and spiritual master, Hazrat Nizamuddin Aulia. Hazrat Inayat Khan did not pass away just here, though; his tomb is located where it is because of something that occurred just a short time before the Master died. While visiting his friend, the Sufi Pir Hasan Nizami, whose house stands in the Basti, Hazrat Inayar is said to have gestured to a place nearby in the Nizami family burial grounds, saying, "I should like to stay here forever." In those days the area was much more open and peaceful than it is today, so the remark was understandable. Hasan Nizami would have been happy to have Inayat as a house guest, but this offer was declined. When, a short time later, the surprising news came that the Master had left his body, Hasan Nizami responded with the words, "The Sun which rose in the West has set in the East." He then offered the piece of land that his friend had indicated as a burial plot.
